Why we are Squarespace web designers

When I first got into web design, I thought Squarespace was awesome for newbies. I was all about it. It automatically made my sites look good on any device, but I found its design options somewhat restrictive. I felt stuck with their templates, and customizing them was a pain. So, I thought WordPress was the way to go. We started off only offering WordPress sites because it gave us the freedom we needed to customize our sites.

Fast forward to two years ago when we took the course “The Five-Day Design Method” with the GoLive team. I was mind-blown by how simple it was to edit a Squarespace site and get it up and running. I realized I could build a site in as little as 5 days, and that changed everything for me. So we started offering Squarespace websites alongside WordPress. I quickly started shifting towards only wanting to do Squarespace sites, but there were definitely still some limitations that made me hesitant to let go of Wordpress.

Then, out of nowhere, they launched Fluid Engine and that changed EVERYTHING. Suddenly, I could customize like crazy and add all the cool features I wanted to without having to make the graphics first in another program. Plus with the power of CSS and Javascript I could pretty much create any design I could dream up. This year we invested in Squarestylist to learn all of her cool coding techniques and tricks. I am constantly amazed by the boundless potential of Squarespace. And they keep making updates and adding features!

Now, we've ditched WordPress completely. We're fully invested in Squarespace and everything it has to offer. The platform's user-friendly interface, coupled with its ease of use for our clients, allowing you to independently edit and maintain your website. Empowering our clients to be able to actually use their websites has always been our main goal, so making this switch was a no-brainer!
